The partnership will focus on the installation of fast-charging stations and hubs for simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles at Holiday Park sites in Pernik and Haskovo at first, to be followed by other Videolux sites, Eldrive said in a press release on Monday.
The first two charging stations have already been installed at the Pernik and Haskovo locations, with more to follow there as well as at many of the sites of DIY chain Praktiker and household appliance retailer Technopolis owned by Videolux.
The hubs will allow for the simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles. Eldrive Bulgaria's network already has several charging hubs with between 8 and 20 charging points.
The partnership with Videolux is a boost to the development of Eldrive's network in Bulgaria, as the company needed a partner who can offer attractive locations with a wide range of additional services for EV charging users, Eldrive Bulgaria executive director Dimo Kolchev explained.
In June, Eldrive received an approval from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a 40 million euro ($42.2 million) loan that will support the deployment of 10,574 EVC stations in Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania and Latvia.
Last month, Videolux opened a Holiday Park retail facility in the southern city of Haskovo, the second one this year after the Pernik retail park opened in June.
