Romanian electricity distribution network operator Distributie Energie Electrica Romania (DEER), a wholly-owned subsidiary of local power supplier and distributor Electrica, said it plans to invest a record 1.48 billion lei ($323.2 million/282.8 million euro) in its distribution network in 2026, up from 878 million lei in 2025.

Montenegro's state-controlled power producer Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) is seeking the government's approval to take out a long-term loan of 64.2 million euro ($71.3 million) to finance 10 renewable energy projects of 95.87 MW in total installed capacity, the cabinet said.

Romania's top oil and gas group OMV Petrom that its total hydrocarbon production in the second quarter of 2026 amounted to 102,300 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day, rising marginally from 102,200 boe per day in the same period of 2025 and dropping from 104,200 boe per day in the first quarter of 2026.

Romanian renewables group Waldevar Holding said on Thursday that it has completed the acquisition of high-voltage electrical infrastructure solutions company Elemo for an undisclosed amount.
