The European Commission said that, together with the European Investment Bank (EIB), it is disbursing 636.9 million euro ($728.9 million) from the EU's Modernisation Fund to Romania to support energy-related projects in the country.
The number of tourists staying in Romania fell by an annual 4.5% to 4.29 million in the first five months of 2026, the statistical board, INS, said on Friday.
