Croatian electrical concern Koncar said on Thursday it signed a 53.6 million euro ($61 million) deal with state-owned passenger railway company HZPP for the delivery of six battery electric multiple units (BEMUs) and the commissioning of one hybrid stationary power connection for charging traction batteries on the local railway network.

Serbian battery developer ElevenEs expects that its planned 1GWh mega factory in the northern city of Subotica will become operational in the second half of 2027 amid growing global demand for high-power solutions for AI data centres and heavy industry, CEO Nemanja Mikac told SeeNews.

New passenger car registrations in Slovenia rose by 20.3% in the first five months of 2026, to 30,053, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Tuesday, quoting provisional figures.
