Slovenian energy trader and supplier GEN-I Group said it has successfully completed the acquisition of three large battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Bulgaria.

Czech power utility group Energo-Pro said on Friday that it has commissioned its 10.75 MW/24.31 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Bulgaria, investing 4.23 million euro ($4.8 million) in the project.

The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said on Friday that it expects the country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth to decelerate to 2.8% in 2026 from 3.2% last year, revising downwards its March forecast by 0.2 percentage points.

Bulgaria must take effective action against its excessive budget deficit and submit to the EU Commission the necessary measures together with its draft state budget for 2027 by October 15, the Council of the EU said.

Bulgarian pharmaceuticals maker Sopharma said on Friday that its shareholders endorsed the distribution of a gross dividend of 0.052 euro ($0.05) per share for 2025.
