April 7 (SeeNews) - The total number of passenger cars on hybrid drive in Slovenia increased by 70% to about 16,000 in 2021, as registrations of new hybrid cars jumped 169% on an annual basis, the country's statistical office said.
Hybrid cars represented 1.3% of all registered cars in Slovenia at the end of 2021, up from 0.8% in December 2020, the Slovenian statistical office said in a statement on Wednesday.
The number of passenger cars on electric drive increased by 47% to 5,400, which is 0.5% of all registered passenger cars, as the number of new electric cars grew 1%, the statistical office said.
The number of car registrations in Slovenia grew by 11.2% in 2021 to a total of 120,876, whereas the total number of registered passenger cars went up 1.6% to 1,189,457.
In 2021, 564 passenger cars per 1,000 citizens were registered in Slovenia, with an average age of 10.6 years.
