"We will make efforts to establish a state-of-the-art AI platform based on high-performance computers and, together with Nvidia, make a special plan to improve the capacity needed to build one of the fastest AI supercomputers in Southeast Europe," Mihailo Jovanovic, director of Serbia's office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, said in a government press release on Saturday.

Under the terms of the MoU, Nvidia will support start-ups and provide training to improve technical and applied AI knowledge.

Serbia has already signed similar agreements with Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Huawei and Nutanix, Jovanovic said.

In November 2019, Jovanovic said Serbia's AI platform will help develop state-of-the-art e-government services based on the use of artificial intelligence.
