July 2 (SeeNews) - The total volume of electricity traded on the day-ahead market (DAM) of the Kosovo-Albanian power exchange Alpex amounted to 145.5 GWh in June, its fifth month of cross-zone trading, Alpex said on Tuesday.

Power volume traded on Alpex's DAM at 145.5 GWh in June

Out of the total amount, 77.42 GWh of electricity was traded for the Kosovo bidding zone, and 68.12 GWh for the Albania bidding zone, both with an average market clearing price of 108.37 euro ($116.13) per megawatt hour, Alpex said in a monthly report.

Alpex, founded by Albania’s power transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, has a total of 25 members in the bidding zones of Albania and Kosovo. Trading in the Albanian zone began in April 2023.

The first auction in the Kosovo bidding zone, which also kicked off trade in the inter-zone exchange, was held on January 31, for electricity delivered on February 1.

The volume of electricity traded on the DAM in May amounted to 176.7 GWh, Alpex said last month.
