Bulgaria's Sopharma sells 710,000 own shares

June 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian pharmaceuticals maker Sopharma [BUL:SFA] said it sold 710,000 own shares on June 25 for a total of some 4.22 million levs ($2.31 million/2.16 million euro).

The stock, sold at an average price of 5.94 levs apiece on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, represents 0.40% of Sopharma’s equity capital, the company said in a bourse filing on Wednesday.

The own shares held by Sopharma following the deal amount to 13,377,998, equal to 7.47% of the company's equity capital.

Earlier this week, Sopharma said it sold 68,500 shares for 407,940 levs in total.

Last August, Sopharma's shareholders endorsed a proposal for a share repurchase programme, which would run for up to 18 months and target up to 3% of the company's equity capital per year.

As of 1045 CEST on Thursday, shares in Sopharma traded 0.34% higher at 5.94 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
