"Awarded through a competitive international tender, this contract is valued at over 188 million euro, with Koncar’s contribution amounting to nearly 80 million euro," Koncar said in a file to the Zagreb bourse.
The scope of work includes comprehensive design, production, delivery, dismantling of outdated equipment, installation of cutting-edge new equipment, testing, and commissioning.
"This project aims to boost the plant’s efficiency, extend its operational life, and reinforce Romania’s overall energy capabilities," Koncar explained.
the Vidraru hydropower plant, located on the Argeș River, is considered a cornerstone of Romania’s energy infrastructure. Originally constructed in 1961, it has been operational since 1966.
The customer for this project is Romania’s largest electricity producer Hidroelectrica [BSE:H2O], which has an installed hydropower capacity of 6.3 GW, generating an annual net production of 15.6 TWh.
Koncar’s shares traded flat at 258 euro on Friday afternoon on the Zagreb bourse.
