Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 3.31% on the year to 8.5 billion leks in the January-May period, the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) said in a monthly release on Thursday.
The life insurance segment reported an increase of 19.3%, to 846.9 million leks.
Total gross claims paid increased by 29.32% on the year to 3.5 billion leks in the review period.
The statistics are based on data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
