"We are ready to invest a significant amount of money to build the complete infrastructure and to manage that airport, which is of strategic importance for both Serbia and the Serb Republic," Vucic said in a statement on Thursday, following a meeting with the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, in Banja Luka.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia, the other is the Muslim-Croat Federation.
According to Serbian media reports, the airport will be built between the towns of Trebinje, Bileca and Gacko, in the Serb Republic, and it may be operated under a concession for 30 or 35 years.
Serbia is also ready to provide a financing for the construction of a 17.1 km stretch of a motorway linking the town of Bijeljina, in the Serb Republic, to the Sremska Raca border crossing in Serbia, Vucic said in a video file posted on the website of Tanjug news agency. "That [project] is worth between 140 million euro and 150 million euro. We are ready to participate with 100 million euro."
In October, Serbia started the construction of Sremska Raca-Kuzmin, the first section of a motorway connecting its capital Belgrade to Bosnia's Sarajevo.
