CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal, spanning 14.5 ha, is Romania's first industrial park featuring a cargo terminal directly connected to an airport's landing strip, the Bihor County Council said in a press release on Thursday. The industrial park includes three storage, logistics and production halls.
The project was developed through a public-private partnership, with the Bihor County Council contributing the land through a concession auction, and CTP Romania making the investment.
Oradea Airport purchased security equipment worth 2.5 million euro for the control of cargo goods. The acquisition was financed from European funds.
"According to the business plan, the airport aims to start cargo operations no later than next year and to stabilise the activity within five years, at the level of cargo terminals at other airports in the vicinity. By the end of July at the latest, the necessary accreditations will be obtained from the competent institutions, border police, SRI, etc. From August, the cargo terminal will be fully operational," Bihor county council president Ilie Bolojan said.
CTP is a full-service commercial real estate developer which builds, manages and delivers custom-built, high-tech business parks throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
