Romania's M3 money supply up 10.5% y/y in May

June 25 (SeeNews) - Romania’s central bank said on Tuesday that M3, the broadest gauge of money supply, grew by a nominal 10.5% year-on-year to 690.2 billion lei ($148.8 billion/138.7 billion euro) in May, after increasing by an annual 11.4% in April.

On a monthly comparison basis, M3 money supply rose 0.2% in May, the central bank, BNR, said in a monthly monetary statistics report.

In real terms, M3 grew by 5.1% on the year and inched up by 0.3% on the month in May.

Romania’s M1 monetary aggregate increased by 7.1% on the year in May, to 408.6 billion lei, after a 7.3% rise in April.

Net foreign assets rose by an annual 21.2% in May, reaching 360.8 billion lei, while net domestic assets inched up by 0.7% year-on-year to 329.4 billion lei.
