The benchmark index was driven down by a 3.42% tumble in First Investment Bank, or Fibank, [BUL:FIB] to 4.52 levs and a 2.08% fall in diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] to 0.705 levs.

The two companies also impacted the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The biggest decliner in the BGBX40, however, was fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:PET], which plunged 12.79% to 0.75 levs.

Overall, the BGBX40 index went down 0.09% to 169.33 points, whereas the BGTR30 lost 0.31% to 851.64 points.

The BEAMX index, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, sank by 0.86% to 100.04 points after a 4.69% drop in cargo drone developer Dronamics' special purpose vehicle Dronamics Capital [BUL:DRON] to 2.44 levs.

By contrast, the BGREIT, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, added 0.04% to 190.49 points on the back of a 0.98% climb in CCB Real Estate Fund [BUL:CCBR] to 51.50 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse soared to nearly 7.23 million levs ($3.95 million/3.70 million euro) on Monday from 690,426 levs on Friday.

The majority of the day's turnover, or a little over 6.1 million levs, was generated by diversified group Synthetica [BUL:SYN] after 117,350 shares changed hands. The stock closed 2.80% lower at 52.00 levs.
