June 25 (SeeNews) - U.S.-based Air Lease Corporation (ALC) said that it has signed a long-term lease placement for an used Airbus A319-131 aircraft with startup airline HiSky Moldova.
This aircraft, the second to join the fleet of the Moldovan airline, is scheduled to be delivered in September, ALC said in a statement on Wednesday.
"We have been impressed with the business plan underpinning this new clean-sheet airline in Moldova and are honored to provide the first A319 and A320 aircraft to HiSky Moldova so that they can launch their airline later this summer," ALC vice president and head of aircraft sales and trading, David Beker, said.
Earlier this month, HiSky leased an used Airbus A320-200 from Air Lease Corporation, scheduled to be delivered in July.
Back then, HiSky said it will launch regular flights in July from its hub Chisinau International Airport to London, Dublin, Lisbon, Paris, Bologne, and Dusseldorf.
ALC is an aircraft leasing company based in Los Angeles.
HiSky Moldova was established in February by a team of entrepreneurs with several years of experience in aviation, in partnership with Romanian charter airline Cobrex Trans.
