UPDATE 1 - Rezolv, Low Carbon partner with Vestas for Vifor wind farm

In the first phase of the project of approximately 461 MW the partner companies will install 30 Vestas wind turbines of 6.4 MW each, for an initial installed capacity of 192 MW, Rezolv Energy said in a press release.

Last week, Rezolv and Low Carbon said that they have secured loan facilities of up to 291 million euro ($310.96 million) for the first development phase of the Vifor wind farm, which will be developed in the southeastern county of Buzau. This initial phase is scheduled to be completed within eighteen months, with the wind park to become operational by the end of 2025. A planned second phase will see the capacity of the wind farm expand to 461 MW. Once fully operational, the Vifor wind farm will generate enough green energy to power over 270,000 households and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 540,000 tonnes a year, as per the statement.

Romanian power infrastructure company Electromontaj said on Monday that it won a tender for the design and execution of connections to the national grid of the Vifor wind farm. Electromontaj will partner with Vestas to design and build a 400kV connection station and a 400/33kV transformation station in the town of Pogoanele, as well as a 400kV overhead line through which the wind farm will deliver its output to the existing 400kV Gura Ialomitei – Stalpu overhead line, the company said in a press release.

Work on the grid connection project, whose value was not disclosed, began in May and is planned to be completed by the end of 2025, as per the statement.

Electromontaj said that last year it completed a similar connection project for the Ruginoasa wind farm.

Established 18 months ago by UK infrastructure investor Actis, Rezolv Energy has more than 2 GW of ready-to-build clean energy projects in Southeast Europe, including the 1,044 MW Dama Solar park in Romania.
