Of the total, 99 GWh of electricity was traded for the Kosovo bidding zone, and 77.6 GWh for the Albania bidding zone, both with an average market clearing price of 70.21 euro ($76.2) per megawatt hour, Alpex said in a monthly report.
Energy flow from the Albanian bidding zone towards the bidding zone of Kosovo reached 0.98 GWh. Kosovo exchange members supplied 41.8 GWh to their Albanian counterparts.
Alpex, founded by Albania’s power transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, has a total of 24 members in the bidding zones of Albania and Kosovo. Trading in the Albanian zone began in April 2023.
Its first auction in the Kosovo bidding zone, which also kicked off trade in the inter-zone exchange, was held on January 31, for the electricity delivered on February 1.
The total volume of electricity traded in the day-ahead market (DAM) in April reached 157.8 GWh, Alpex said last month.
