"The scope of work encompasses the design, manufacturing, and delivery of two new stators, rotor poles, excitation systems, spare parts, special tools, and devices, along with the disassembly, assembly, and commissioning of the units," Koncar said in a monthly newsletter. Additionally, the contract, which was signed on October 2022, envisions an increase in the generator capacity from the current 20 MVA to 22 MVA.
Koncar started work on the plant in October 2023, completing the assembly of the first generator, G1, of 22 MVA, 6.3 kV, 125 rpm, and 50 Hz, in March this year. Following a successful 28-day trial run, the unit was transitioned to permanent operation, Koncar said.
The second generator, G2, is currently under production and is expected to be completed by the end of October. On-site work will begin shortly after, with assembly and commissioning scheduled for March and April 2025, respectively.
