Total FDI inflow dropped by 3.9% on the year to 290 million euro in the January-April period, the central bank, CBCG, said in its latest monthly statistical report published last week.
The inflow of investments to companies and banks jumped 26% on the year to 45 million euro in the first four months of 2024, while investments in real estate fell by an annual 2.6% to 133.34 million euro.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany debt rose 6.9% on the year to 107.6 million euro in the review period.
At the same time, total FDI outflow rose 4.9% on the year to 128 million euro in the first four months of 2024, with withdrawal of non-residents' funds invested in Montenegro amounting to 96.5 million euro, while investment of residents abroad totalled 31.6 million euro.
In 2023, Montenegro's net FDI inflow fell 45% to 429 million euro.
