The group is also planning expansion to the Moldovan market next year, news outlet Forbes.ro reported on Wednesday.
The expansion is part of Direct Pharma's broader objective of increasing its turnover by a minimum of 10% annually in order to reach a milestone figure of 50 million euro ($54 million).
"For the manufacturers whom we collaborate with, a great advantage is represented by the simplification of access to other markets neighbouring Romania, where they are not present at the moment," Forbes.ro quoted Direct Pharma Logistics co-founder Octavian Iacob as saying.
In the first quarter of 2024, Direct Pharma Logistics booked a turnover of 11.1 million euro, up 13% year-on-year.
The Direct Pharma Logistics group, comprising companies Direct Pharma Logistics, Pharmalink, and Farmatop, has an experience of over 18 years in pharmaceutical logistics, specialising in the areas of pre-wholesale, wholesale, and retail distribution of medicines.
Sofia-based Medex is an official distributor of products made by Bayer, La Roche, Sanofi, Pfizer, Mundipharma, Merck, Nobel Pharma and others.
