The greenfield project will be located on a land plot of 14 hectares, next to a wind farm already operated by Engie, a company press officer told SeeNews on Monday.
Upon completion of the site, the existing photovoltaic and wind farm, with an installed capacity of 47.5 MW, will have the same connection points to the grid and will become one of the first hybrid plants from renewable sources in Romania.
The PV plant will be completed in the coming months and will offset some 3,900 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
The Engie Group employs over 100,000 people globally and is present in Romania in natural gas, electricity and energy services.
