BELGRADE (Serbia), June 3 (SeeNews) – Zijin Bor Copper, the Serbian unit of China's Zijin Mining Group, plans to reduce its production of copper sulphate to 1,200 tonnes in 2020, from a record-high 1,300 tonnes last year, a company official has said.

The company hit a monthly record of 146,250 tonnes of copper sulphate in January, the director of copper sulphate production at the electrolysis unit of Zijin Bor Copper, Snezana Stancic, said in the latest edition of corporate newsletter Kolektiv.

"We are the only producer of copper sulphate in the country and the surrounding area and we have no competition. Everything that is produced is sold, even in advance," Stancic said.

Zijin Bor Copper sells its copper sulphate produce in Serbia, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Italy, Albania and Bulgaria, she added.

The Chinese group injected $350 million (312 million euro) in the capital of Serbian copper mining and smelting company RTB Bor in December 2018, acquiring majority ownership, and renamed it to Zijin Bor Copper.
