Romania’s Mobexpert puts on hold plans for expansion in Bulgaria

November 28 (SeeNews) - Romanian furniture maker and retailer Mobexpert has put on hold plans to open new stores in Bulgaria, the company’s local unit said on Wednesday.

For the time being, the company will retain its sole location in Sofia’s Lyulin district, Mobexpert Bulgaria said in a press release.

Mobexpert saw a 70% increase in the sales of decoration items, it added, without specifying over what period.

The company plans to reorganize its stores so that the decoration sector reaches 25 – 30% of the total exhibition area, it also said.

Mobexpert has a network of 10 hypermarkets and more than 20 stores in Romania. Apart from a hypermarket in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, it also has one store in Serbia's capital Belgrade.
