“The opening of the Mobexpert hypermarket in Iasi is included in the second phase of expansion of the company's outlet network in Romania, which is part of its strategy for consolidation as a regional brand,” Mobexpert group said in a statement.
The group's President, Dan Sucu, said in an interview in June that Mobexpert plans to invest some 6.0 million euro in three new hypermarkets this year despite the fallout from the global crisis.
The latest launch brings up to 35 the company's store count in Romania, including 10 hypermarkets. Mobexpert opened its first hypermarket abroad in the Bulgarian capital Sofia in 2007. It also has an office furniture store in Sofia and another one in Serbia’s capital Belgrade.
