EBRD mulls 2 mln euro loan to Bosnia's Addiko Bank Banja Luka

June 12 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday it is considering providing a senior secured loan of up to 2 million euro ($2.2 million) to Addiko Bank Banja Luka [BANJ:KRLB-R-A], a Bosnian unit of Austria's Addiko Bank AG, in support of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The loan proceeds would be used to help MSMEs finance investments that will assist in improving the competitiveness and compliance with technical standards in line with the EU directives and other internationally recognised standards, the EBRD said in a project summary document.

The loan would be provided under the EBRD's FIF- Sustainable Reboot SME programme.

Addiko Bank Banja Luka has 28 branches in the Serb Republic, one of the two entities forming Bosnia. Addiko Bank also has a unit in the other entity, the Federation.
