The power produced by the lignite-fired facility covers the average consumption of almost 1.3 million Bulgarian households in the January-September period, ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 said in a press release on Friday.
In its regular updates, the company does not provide information about the exact amount of electricity produced.
ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 completed a planned annual overhaul of its facilities at the end of August in preparation for the upcoming winter season.
Bulgaria's electricity production climbed by 13% on the year to 38,054 GWh from January 1 to October 3, recent data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
The 908-MW power plant in southern Bulgaria is 73%-owned by London-listed power generation business ContourGlobal, with Bulgarian state-owned National Electricity Company holding the remaining 27% stake. In May, ContourGlobal agreed to be taken private by US private equity firm KKR.
