June 18 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-run airport operator Aerodromi Srbije plans to complete the construction of a new passenger terminal at Konstantin Veliki airport in Nis in 2022, its director Mihajlo Zdravkovic said.
The land issues will be resolved soon and the preparations for the construction works will move forth, Zdravkovic said in a statement on Wednesday.
The project and technical documentation for the new terminal building, with a footprint of 7,160 square metres, is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, Aerodromi Srbije said.
Aerodromi Srbije assumed the management of Konstantin Veliki airport in Nis from the city council in August 2019, in order to enhance investment in the airport.
The company started operations in February 2019. The company's first task was to open the Morava airport in Kraljevo for civil aviation operations following a 10 million euro ($11.2 million) conversion of the military airbase there into a civilian airport.
