Moldova's economic growth is seen to accelerate to 3.9% in 2025 before further speeding up to 4.5% in 2026, the World Bank said in its June 2024 Global Economic Prospects report released on Tuesday, affirming its April projection.
For the Eastern European subregion, which includes Moldova, Ukraine, and Belarus, the World Bank expects economic growth to slow down to 2.4% in 2024 from 4.5% last year. Growth is then projected to pick up to 4.2% in 2025 before decelerating to 3.4% in 2026.
The World Bank kept its estimate for Moldova's GDP growth in 2023 unchanged since its April projection, at 0.7%.
