The launch of the laboratory, which will have a capacity to make 1,000 COVID-19 tests daily, will be financed with a donation from the Chinese government, Nedimovic said on Tuesday, as quoted in a government statement.

The laboratories of the Public Health Institute and the Veterinary Institute in Nis currently have a capacity to make a total of 200 COVID-19 tests daily, he added.

The country has confirmed 2,447 cases of the coronavirus infection and 61 deaths related to the virus so far.
