In the project in the southeastern county of Buzau, Electromontaj will partner with Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas to design and build a 400kV connection station and a 400/33kV transformation station in the town of Pogoanele, as well as a 400kV overhead line through which the wind farm will deliver its output to the existing 400kV Gura Ialomitei – Stalpu overhead line, the company said in a press release.
Work on the project, whose value was not disclosed, began in May and is planned to be completed by the end of 2025, as per the statement.
The Vifor wind project comprises 72 wind turbine-generator groups of 6.4 MW each. It is being developed by Central and Southeast Europe-focused renewable energy producer Rezolv Energy and UK investment company Low Carbon. Last week, the two companies said that they have secured loan facilities of up to 291 million euro ($310.96 million) for first development phase of the project involving the installation of 192 MW of power generation capacity.
Electromontaj said that last year it completed a similar connection project for the Ruginoasa wind farm.
Established in 1949 in Romania, Electromontaj designs, builds, transforms and maintains the infrastructure for the distribution of electricity and is a company with 100% local private capital. The Electromontaj Group also includes the companies Emfor, Iproeb, Electrotehnica and Hidroconstructia.
