Exports decreased 8.8% on the year to 199.9 billion denars in the January-May period, while imports edged up 0.9% to 286.1 billion denars, Makstat said in a statement.
North Macedonia's exports mainly consisted of supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in motor vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of seats and other supporter catalysts.
The country predominantly imported petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, metals of the platinum group and alloys and electricity.
North Macedonia's main trading partners in the January-May period were Germany, the UK, Greece, Serbia and China.
