The jobless rate was also considerably lower than the 15.16% recorded in April 2023, the employment agency said in a statement earlier this week.

The number of jobless people in Montenegro decreased by 13% on the year to 35,415 at the end of May, including 20,723 women and 14,692 men, the agency said, noting that all unemployment statistics in its statement cover the month of May, apart from the jobless rate which is given for the previous month.

At the end of 2023, the total number of unemployed in Montenegro stood at 39,942, including 23,263 women and 16,679 men.
