March 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian manufacturer of PVC and aluminium windows, doors and shutters Rollplast opened a new office building and an expanded production facility worth a total 30 million levs ($16.4 million/15.3 million euro) at its plant in Kostinbrod, near Sofia, the economy ministry said.
The company plans to establish a commercial network in Croatia as it targets to achieve a 50% share of exports in this segment, the economy ministry said in a press release on Thursday.
With its latest investment Rollplast created 30 jobs and now employs over 500. New automation processes have enabled an increase in output volumes, company managing director Svetlin Nikolchev was quoted as saying.
To date, Rollplast has invested a total of 110 million levs, including on setting up 53 showrooms, 49 warehouses and establishing 144 franchise partners in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Serbia and Greece.
In January, Rollplast said it will invest 12 million levs ($6.7 million/6.1 million euro) in new equipment for the plant in Kostinbrod. The company began the construction of a new production unit for PVC windows and a new office building in 2021 worth over 18 million levs in total.
The newly expanded facility will also have a 4 MWp grid-connected solar photovoltaic and battery storage system, Rollplast administrative director Rosen Deyanski told SeeNews in a recent interview.
