March 8 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 1.8% in real terms in 2023, the statistical office said on Friday.
In 2022, Bulgaria posted 3.9% economic growth.
The country's economic output expanded by 1.6% year-on-year in the last quarter of 2023 after an annual increase of 1.8% in the third quarter, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement, citing preliminary and seasonally-adjusted data.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the GDP grew by 0.5% in October-December, following a 0.4% climb between July and September.
Bulgaria's GDP amounted to 183.7 billion levs ($102.3 billion/93.9 billion euro) at current prices in 2023. The GDP per capita totalled 28,516 levs last year.
The gross value added (GVA) generated by the national economy in 2023 went up by 0.8% in annual terms to reach some 161.2 billion levs at current prices.
