December 22 (SeeNews) - Consortium Metro Slatina, led by Bulgarian civil engineering company Trace Group Hold [BUL:T57], signed a 75.06 million levs ($40.77 million/38.38 million euro) contract for the construction of a section of Sofia metro network, Trace Group said.
The contract was concluded with municipal company Metropolitan which operates Sofia metro, Trace Group said in a bourse filing.
The consortium, which also includes Bulgaria's Build Lab, will construct a section with two underground stations and an interstation ventilation system as part of a project for extension of the metro's Line 3 to Slatina district. The term of the contract is 48 months.
According to local media reports, the construction of another section was awarded to a consortium of Bulgarian companies GP Group and Smart Build Digital.
The total length of Line 3 is planned to reach 21 km with 21 metro stations upon completion of the extension project.
The caretaker government said earlier in December that it approved additional financing of up to 30 million levs to facilitate the construction of a section of Line 3 of Sofia metro system.
As at CET 1232 on Thursday, shares in Trace Group traded flat at 3.58 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
