The task on the Serbian project, worth 5.6 million euro ($6.8 million), will consist of building a treatment plant with a capacity to produce 26,000 cubic metres of drinking water per day for the city of Vrsac, in the northern Voivodina province, Aqualia Infraestructuras said in a statement.
The project is funded by German bank KfW.
In Kosovo, regional water utility Hidroregjioni Jugor has pre-awarded to Aqualia Infraestructuras the construction of the Prizren treatment plant.
The contract, scheduled to be signed in January 2015, is valued at nearly 10.5 million euro.
Once completed, the plant will treat the city’s wastewater with a capacity in the initial stage of 50,000 population equivalent.
Aqualia already has extensive experience in the region, where it is currently building treatment plants in Niksic and Pljevija, in Montenegro, and in Bosnia's Konjic under contracts worth a total of 30 million euro.
Aqualia Infraestructuras specializes in the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of hydro infrastructure and water treatment plants.
