June 5 (SeeNews) - Metropoliten, the municipally-owned operator of the Bulgarian capital Sofia's subway, said it has opened a 140 million levs ($77.8 million/71.6 million euro) tender for the supply of eight metro trains.
The new trains will run on the first, second and fourth lines of the Sofia metro, Metropoliten said in a tender notice published in the public procurement register on Monday. They must be able to operate without the need for additional stationary equipment.
The contract has a term of three years. Candidates can submit their offers until July 22.
In April, Metropoliten opened a 142 million levs tender for the design and construction of an extension of the first metro line from Lyulin station, in the western part of the city, to Sofia Ring Road.
