November 28 (SeeNews) - SOF Connect, the concessionaire of Bulgaria's Sofia Airport, said that it called a tender for the provision of a new main IT system as part of its digital transformation plan which will be worth an investment of more than 10 million levs ($5.3 million/5.1 million euro).
Interested parties are invited to submit expressions of interest until December 2, with bids to be lodged by December 23, the airport operator said in a press release over the weekend.
The procurement process for an Airport Operations Management System (AOMS) was launched on November 18, with both Bulgarian and global IT companies invited to participate.
The airport's main IT system supports airport services such as check-in, gate management, guest lounges, aircraft parking, flight information and other airport operations related to passenger, aircraft and baggage handling. The concessionaire is looking to upgrade the system with a view to more efficient resource management and the replacement of outdated manual processes currently in place.
"The digitisation of processes, implementation of new systems, a new website and a mobile app are all part of the airport's 5-star strategy with a focus on a better passenger experience and improved efficiency," SOF Connect said.
Bids under a separate tender for a new an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system are also accepted until December 2, according to an earlier statement.
