April 9 (SeeNews) - Serbia's infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said on Tuesday that the country will receive a building permit for the first part of Sector C of the Belgrade ring road in October.

Sector C is the most demanding sector as it involves a road and railway ring road, as well as a railway bridge almost two km in length over the Danube river near the Belgrade suburb of Vinca, Vesic said in a Facebook post.

The first part of Sector C will connect the Bubanj Potok interchange to the Bolec interchange. By the middle of next year, Serbia expects to receive a construction permit for the road-railway bridge over the Danube near Vinca, and then for the rest of the route, Vesic said.

The entire Sector C of the Belgrade bypass road will connect Bubanj Potok to Pancevo and will cost around 500 million euro ($542.8 million).

In April 2019, Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China's Power Construction Corporation (PowerChina) and Azerbaijan's civil engineering company Azvirt for the construction of Sector C of the Belgrade ring road.

In June, Serbia opened for traffic a 9.74-km section of the Belgrade bypass, which connects Strazevica to Bubanj Potok.
