Having initially established its base at the newly inaugurated Brasov-Ghimbav international airport, Dan Air declared last month that due to the airport's limited operating hours and insufficient facilities, it has decided to fully transfer operations to Bacau Airport.
As of December 11, Dan Air will service eight European routes from its Bacau base - London, Brussels, Turin, Dublin, Rome, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Catania, the airport said in a social media announcement on Tuesday.
Also, the airline has decided to increase the frequency of the Dublin route during the holiday season to meet the demand from the Romanian community living in Ireland.
Founded in 2017 in Romania by pilot Dan Iuhas, Dan Air started operating regular passenger flights in 2023, after previously operating charter flights and wet lease flights with its own fleet of aircraft.
