April 16 (SeeNews) - Romanian railway operator CFR said it has started repair works on a railway bridge crossing the Olt river with an estimated budget of 1.73 million lei ($370,735/347,830 euro), aiming to increase train speed between the stations of Draganesti Olt and Farcasele.
The bridge repairs will receive non-refundable financing through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, CFR said in a press release on Monday.
The works are part of a broader overhaul programme that is being carried out at six repair sites between the stations of Rosiori Nord and Farcasele. Following the completion of this repair project, the Bucharest-Videle-Craiova route will enable train speed of up to 120 km/h.
