Montenegro's share indices rise in April

May 8 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Montenegrin Stock Exchange rose in April, bourse data showed.

The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, gained 1.46% on a monthly comparison basis in April, to 992.19 points, the bourse said in a monthly activity report on Tuesday.

State-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore [MNSE:EPCG] generated the highest turnover among the blue chips. A total of ten transactions with Elektroprivreda shares were carried out in April, resulting in a total turnover of 37,952 euro. The company stock last traded on April 26 closing 0.38% lower at 5.23 euro.

The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, rose 0.59% month-on-month in April to close at 14,788.40 points.

The bourse's total turnover rose to 1.1 million euro ($1.2 million) in April from 173,800 euro a month earlier.

A total of 143 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in April, compared to 128 in March.

Stock market capitalisation was 2.520 billion euro at the end of April, up from 2.550 billion euro a month earlier.

In 2023, both bourse indices rose, with MNSE10 gaining 5.36% and MONEX adding 10% compared to end-2022.
