Montenegro launches 18.5 mln euro water, sewerage project in Herceg Novi

PODGORICA (Montenegro), September 17 (SeeNews) – Montenegro launched an 18.5 million euro ($24.2 million) project for the construction of water and sewerage infrastructure in the coastal municipality of Herceg Novi, the country's government said on Monday.

The project will be supported by the German government through the state-owned KfW bank, prime minister Igor Luksic said in a government statement without elaborating.

The construction works on the 35.3-kilometre water supply and sewerage network will be conducted by Turkish company Celtikcioglu and will be monitored by Germany’s Dahlem, the municipality of Herceg Novi said in a statement on Friday.

Herceg Novi municipality has some 31,000 inhabitants.
