MK, Alfi launch 165 mln euro wind park in Serbia

The 105.6 MW wind park will produce 310 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power 75,000 households, Alfi Renewables said in a statement on Wednesday.

The park comprises 22 turbines produced by Germany's Nordex, spread over an area of 56 square metres in the municipality of Golubac, the statement read, adding the investors have built 30 km of new roads, 40 km of power lines and a new distribution transformer station as part of the project.

Four banking groups financed the Krivaca wind park project, including Austrian lenders Erste Bank and Raiffeisen Bank International, Austrian development bank OeEB and Slovenian lender NLB. The park will sell its electricity under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) concluded with Swiss renewables producer and trader AXPO, according to the statement.

In March, MK Group's director general, Mihailo Jankovic, said the company plans to invest a total of 900 million euro in 1 GW of green energy projects by 2026.
