November 30 (SeeNews) - Germany's Ludwig Pfeiffer Hoch - und Tiefbau has won a contract for upgrading the water supply and wastewater systems in Romania's Suceava city with final value of 44.9 million lei ($12.9 million/9.9 million euro), the EU's procurement journal announced on Friday.

The value of the contract excludes Value Added Tax (VAT).

The contract involves extension of the city water and wastewater networks by about 31.4 kilometres (km) and 32.7 km respectively, according to the notice published in the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED).

It also includes rehabilitation of a 6.0 km section of wastewater network and a 25.4 km section of water supply network and construction of one water- and five wastewater-pump stations in the city located in northeastern Romania.

The initial estimated value of the contract financed from EU funds was 73.5 million lei, VAT excluded.
