In December, KfW disbursed the first tranche, in the amount of 28.8 million euro, for the project, the finance ministry said in a statement.

The European Union is also supporting the project, through a 20 million euro grant, the ministry said in December.

The European Union and KfW are also providing 20 million euro and 23 million euro, respectively, for the construction, expansion and rehabilitation of landfills and solid waste transfer stations in several municipalities.
