Germany Pledges 90 Mln Euro Until End-2009 To Help Albania Finance Major Projects

October 8 (SeeNews) - Germany will lend Albania 90 million euro ($122.8 million) by the end of next year to help the Balkan country finance major infrastructure projects, the German embassy in Tirana said.

The money will be spent on energy, sewerage and water supply infrastructure upgrade and on technical assistance, the embassy said in a statement late on Tuesday after discussions on future bilateral cooperation held in Tirana.

Germany has financed projects in Albania worth 700 million euro since the fall of communism in the early 1990s.
