April 1 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia is in talks over the possibility of introducing charter services between Belgrade and Cuban capital Havana, regional media reported on Monday.
“Both parties have reached an agreement to uphold ongoing communication regarding shared interests, particularly emphasising the necessity of establishing the required infrastructure for potential nonstop flights between Belgrade and Havana," news portal EX-YU Aviation quoted the Cuban embassy to Serbia as saying in a statement.
"The Cuban Ambassador to Serbia urges Serbian travel agencies and tour operators to collaborate in ensuring the necessary capacities for the launch of a direct Belgrade - Havana service. This aligns with the growing demand from both Serbian and Cuban communities for travel in both directions, including Cubans residing in Serbia”, it added.
Last year, Air Serbia’s management held talks with Cuba's ambassador to Serbia, Leyde Rodriguez Hernandez, on the potential introduction of flights between the two countries, but ultimately did not reach an agreement.
