September 19 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Thursday it plans to allocate a new aircraft to its Romanian fleet, as well as launch a new route from the capital Bucharest to France's Lyon next June.
The company will expand operations at its Bucharest base by adding an Airbus A321 aircraft, it said in a press release.
Flights to France's third largest city Lyon will be operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting June 2, 2020.
The airline also announced that it has increased the frequency of flights from Romania to Tel Aviv, Milan and Turin.
In 2018, Wizz carried more than 8.3 million passengers on its low fare routes to and from Romania, which represents a 14% growth year on year.
Wizz Air now offers 148 routes to 20 countries from ten airports in Romania.
